On June 17, the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) will host the event “Bizkaia with the Talent”, a key event for companies in the territory that seek to reduce STEM talent gaps and activate strategies to attract and develop people. Devol will participate by providing its experience in the reception and promotion of international students.
Organized by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Bizkaia with the talent will bring together business leaders, human resources experts and institutional representatives to discuss talent management in an increasingly competitive and globalized environment.
Among the experiences that will be presented at the event, Devol, a company that has made a firm commitment to training and hosting interns, stands out. Felipe Rebollo, business director, will participate in an interview where he will share the keys to its model of integration of young talent, especially in international profiles. Jesús Sevillano, Systems Engineer and student of the Master’s Degree in Computing and Intelligent Systems, will be present as a representative of this commitment.
Devol’s strategy focuses on offering students a complete training experience that goes beyond technical tasks. From day one, interns are incorporated into real projects, with close support from mentors who guide them in their professional development. In addition, the company promotes a continuous learning environment, where participation and the contribution of innovative ideas are encouraged.
This commitment to young talent not only benefits the students, who acquire key skills for their future employment, but also the company itself, which is enriched with new perspectives and positions itself as a benchmark in the training of professionals in the field of technology.
The event’s program also includes round tables, interviews and keynote speeches, including the intervention of Sergio Ezama, Chief Human Resource Officer of Netflix, who will share his vision on attracting and retaining talent in a leading company in the technology and entertainment sector.
Bizkaia with the talent is part of a series of initiatives promoted by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia to strengthen the talent ecosystem in the territory. Programs such as Labo-Talento PYMES, Digital Talent Hub or Batu seek to train companies in the strategic management of people, promote reskilling and upskilling in digital skills, and connect SMEs with STEM Vocational Training students through dual training.
In addition, actions are being developed to attract international junior profiles, mainly from Latin America, to study STEM master’s degrees at universities with campuses in Bizkaia, facilitating their professional insertion in the territory. The creation of a Talent House is also part of this strategy, offering a first temporary home and streamlining administrative and legal procedures for international talent.
Collaboration between institutions, companies and educational centers is essential to achieve effective talent management. Events such as Bizkaia with the talent and experiences such as Devol show that it is possible to create synergies that benefit both young people in training and the business fabric of Bizkaia.
In a context of digital transformation and demographic changes, the commitment to talent becomes a critical factor for the competitiveness and sustainable development of the territory. Bizkaia is moving in this direction, consolidating itself as an attractive place to work and live, where talent is valued and cultivated.
